It is also the love story of Dr. Zhivago’s author Boris Pasternak and his mistress Olga Ivinskaya, the inspiration for Dr. Zhivago’s Lara. The story moves back and forth between the east (USSR) and the west (Washington, D.C.) which could be confusing for some readers.
